3. Using the flathead screwdriver, pry open the case on one side and then the other. Be gentle as you go along the edges to prevent scratching.
4. The case should be removed with this process. Place the pieces in a safe and visible spot so you don’t lose any components.

With the key fob popped open, you can begin the process of replacing your key fob battery. Learning how to change the battery in a Mazda key fob is an easy process and can be done relatively quickly:

1. Remove the battery cap and put it to the side in a safe place.
2. The battery of your Mazda key fob should be fully visible, carefully remove it while keeping the rubber ring intact and unbroken.

4. Keeping the ring in place, put your new battery inside the vehicle key fob with the positive side facing up.
5. Put the battery cover in its place and reattach the sides of the case by pressing firmly on each side until you hear them click.
